2010-11 Fox Footie League

So to a new season and this year we see a record entry field of 48.  Many thanks to everyone who have entered this year......the very best of luck to you all!

You will be interested to know, that this year we have a late entry in the form of the FFL Charity.  Basically, what we've done is taken all the entries this year and come up with an average position for every team.  So, should FFL Charity finish in a prize giving position at the end of the season, then that particular amount of prize money won will be donated to charity.

And now to the customary handing out of awards for this years' entries....

Last year's winner of the Homer Simpson Award was Eddie Austin for including two Championship teams in his Premiership prediction.  This year he and Fred Evans gets nominated for both predicting that Man City will win the Champions League.....

Two of you clearly have a thing for Sunderland and get nominated...Bob Hart for predicting that Sunderland will finish 11th and 13th, while Bolton don't get a look in and Mark Brown for thinking that Sunderland will finish 7th and 9th with Blackburn nowhere to be seen!  A nomination also to Andy Prevost who managed to predict there would be 21 teams in the Premiership!

Special award for best email address goes to Paul Forsyth for only1pudding@hotmail.com.

The clear winner this year however has to be Martin Lovatt, for paying his entry fee but not actually putting in an entry!  Maybe we can use this to buy that round he promised us all if Liverpool finished below Man Utd last season.  In any case, this technically puts him in receiveship, so he starts the season on -10 points....assuming we receive his entry within the next few days and accepts that should he win a Prize he donates it to charity.

Good luck!
